Kentucky Christmas

By January 1, 2014Blog

We spent Landon’s first Christmas in Kentucky. First let’s talk about the food.  Mommy and daddy happily enjoyed Rolling Pin Doughnuts and of course BBQ.  Landon enjoyed roast with veggies and chicken with dumplings. Other highlights from the trip included Landon finally meeting his handmade sock monkey, looking at Mimi’s coy fish in the pond, and playing at the AMAZING water front park in downtown Owensboro.   He was also excited to see daddy ride a “motorcycle” put together by Uncle Al. We had a tasty lunch at Bee Bop’s, an old school diner, where mommy indulged in an old-fashioned milk shake.

On Christmas Day we took Landon to the church where mommy and daddy were married and he met Father Tony who married us.  We came home and enjoyed a traditional breakfast of biscuits with gravy, eggs, bacon and sticky buns.  In the afternoon Landon had so many gifts to open that he had to take a half time nap in between. We were very grateful for everyone making Landon’s first Christmas over the top special. The best gift we received was time with family.

There are a lot of photos here so feel free to scroll through instead of watching the slide show. 😉
