I went to the Ob for a viability ultrasound on June 4th. At this point, I was 6 weeks along and desperate to find out if the baby was progressing normally. What happened next I could hardly believe! One moment I am staring at a grayish blob on the ultra sound screen and in the next moment the tech is showing me the flutter of a heart beat and I hear our baby’s heart beating for the first time. The technician says, “115 beats per minute; that’s strong.” After that, I let out a big exhale and the tears came pouring down. She said she would get me a tissue.
