Month 2

By | Blog, Months | No Comments

This month has been crazy!  We found a great home for little Landon and decided to move.  The progress has been very slow. Moving with a newborn is tough to say the least.  But it will all be worth it in the end.   He will be closer to his Auntie Angie and soon his grandparents will be moving into their new house 3 miles from ours.   With the return to work I am realizing just how difficult it is balancing work and life. I find it challenging to be a great teacher and a great parent but I hope I will find a balance soon.  Landon is spending 6 hours a day with Grandma.  They are enjoying stroller walks to the grocery store in the warm spring weather.   Landon is looking forward to a visit from his Kentucky family for his baptism next month.  We can’t wait for everyone to see how much he’s grown!

Month 1

Our first month with Landon has been filled with  laughter, tears, special visits, loads of laundry, and sleepless nights.  We are enjoying getting to know this special little baby and what it means to be a parent. I’m learning to have a sense of humor since I’ve been peed on, pooped on, and spit up on more times than I can count.  Shawn’s learning that he is a very capable father despite his lack of child care experience.   We are both in complete awe that this precious baby is ours.  We think, “WOW, WE MADE THIS.”  We are so grateful for all the family and friends we have that have supported us throughout this first month.  Thank you for being a part of our adventure.

Hello World, I’m Landon James

I arrived into the world early this morning at 3:30 a.m.; weighing in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 in. long. Daddy has changed my diaper a few times and is taking good care of mommy and me. My pediatrician came in earlier today and said I was perfectly healthy.

I can’t wait to meet all of you!

9 months! Happy New Year

Thank you God!  We made it to 9 months!  My goal since day one was to make to 9 months so our prayers have been answered. I have this ironic feeling that I will be one of those women that goes post-term and has to be induced after all.  In order to get this show on the road, I will be heading back to work after the holidays.  A few weeks at work will serve as a terrific distraction from the terrifying task ahead- labor and birth. Baby now weighs 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He’s shedding most of the downy hair that covered his body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, we will be considered full-term.
